ENC Named to Washington State Department of Enterprise Services Statewide Transit Bus Contract

Statewide cooperative contract lends immediate access to ENC’s full heavy-duty bus portfolio to over 30 transit agencies spanning multiple U.S. states

RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, USA – April 9, 2026 – ENC® (“ENC” or the “Company”), a U.S.-based transit bus manufacturer and subsidiary of Rivaz Inc., today announced it has been named to the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services (“DES”) Statewide Transit Bus Contract, a FAST Act-compliant cooperative purchasing agreement that enables transit agencies across Washington and participating states to purchase ENC heavy-duty transit buses.

The contract, which is administered by DES, streamlines procurement for public transit agencies by allowing them to purchase directly through an established statewide agreement, eliminating the need for individual competitive solicitations. Over 30 transit agencies in Washington and participating states – including Sound Transit, King County Metro, Community Transit, Pierce Transit, and Spokane Transit Authority – are currently eligible to purchase through the contract. A detailed contract summary is available on the DES website.

ENC has been awarded across eight categories spanning four propulsion types and two vehicle lengths: clean diesel (35-foot and 40-foot), compressed natural gas (35-foot and 40-foot), diesel-electric hybrid (35-foot and 40-foot), and battery-electric (35-foot and 40-foot). The breadth of the award positions ENC as a comprehensive heavy-duty transit solution provider for agencies across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

“Being named to the Washington State DES contract is a significant milestone for ENC and a testament to the strength of our product portfolio,” said Jason Lee, Chief Executive Officer of ENC. “This contract gives transit agencies across the region a streamlined path to American-made, Altoona-tested heavy-duty buses in every major propulsion category, and we’re proud to be their partner as they build the fleets of the future.”

ENC’s Altoona-tested AXESS® platform is designed to be among the safest heavy-duty transit buses available in America. Built with a hand-welded, carbon steel monocoque body structure, the AXESS delivers exceptional structural durability. The 35-foot and 40-foot configurations provide operational flexibility for fixed-route, commuter, and regional transit service while maintaining full heavy-duty performance.

“The Washington State contract opens the door for transit agencies to access the full range of what ENC offers – from clean diesel and CNG to hybrid and battery-electric – all through a single, simplified procurement vehicle,” said John Obert, Vice President of Transit Sales at ENC. “We look forward to working with agencies throughout Washington and the participating cooperative states to deliver the right bus for their communities.”
