ENC Appoints Robert Cato III as Regional Sales Manager
Veteran bus engineer brings three decades of transit expertise to ENC’s regional sales team and customer partnerships
RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, USA – June 29, 2026 – ENC® (“ENC” or the “Company”), a U.S.-based transit bus manufacturer and subsidiary of Rivaz Inc., today announced the appointment of Robert Cato III as Regional Sales Manager, effective immediately. Cato reports to John Obert, Vice President of Transit Sales, and will support transit agency and operator accounts across the southeastern region of America.
A transit veteran and bus systems expert, Cato brings nearly three decades of hands-on experience earned at the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (“MARTA”), one of the nation’s largest transit agencies. As a Mechanical Electrical Engineer and MARTA-certified electric-bus technician, he wrote technical specifications for parts and buses, managed vendor relationships, and developed tooling and maintenance procedures that improved fleet safety and reliability.
Cato’s appointment reflects how ENC approaches sales as a technical partnership with customers. His engineering background equips him to help agencies match vehicle specifications, propulsion options, and configurations to their real operating conditions, so every recommendation is grounded in what will perform in service.
“The best sales partner is someone who understands a bus down to its frame, and Robert has spent his career keeping fleets safe and on the road,” said Jason Lee, Chief Executive Officer of ENC. “He brings rare technical depth to how we serve our customers. An engineer who has kept these buses running knows what to recommend and why, and that earns lasting trust.”
Earlier, as a Bus Maintenance Instructor, Cato trained MARTA’s technician workforce on new systems and procedures, and across more than two decades as a Journeyman Technician he diagnosed and repaired the electrical and mechanical systems that keep transit fleets in service. He completed transit technical training sponsored by MARTA and the U.S. Department of Labor.
“Robert spent nearly thirty years keeping buses running at one of the nation’s largest agencies, so he knows what a fleet needs because he has done the work himself,” said John Obert. “That is exactly what our customers want in a sales partner.”
Cato will guide customers across ENC’s full product lineup. The Company’s Buy America- and ADA-compliant transit buses are available in 30-, 32-, 33-, 35-, and 40-foot configurations, with clean diesel, compressed natural gas, diesel-electric hybrid, and battery-electric propulsion to support a wide range of agency and operator needs.
“I have spent my career keeping transit vehicles safe and reliable, so I know what works in service and what doesn’t,” said Robert Cato III. “I am proud to bring that perspective to agencies and operators as a partner, helping them choose safe, reliable, and efficient buses built to perform for the long run.”
